Yesterday was over 90 degrees so Katie is now in her new summer clothes. She's now sporting cute little shorts, skirts and tank tops with her pigtails. She loves this, as no one adores her baby skin more than herself. She loves this sockless weather though just like Bill, what I find to be perfect weather makes her sweat. She was a bit miserable yesterday even with the fan on as she was quite sweaty. I gave her a cool bath which she loved but hated the actual cleaning part - she wanted to splash, play and hold all of the wash cloths (I had THREE, two for her to play with and one for me to use but no, she wanted the third one too!)
Katie is able to stand now. Have no idea how long she's been capable of it by she's doing well. Last Saturday I had a dream that she suddenly started to walk so at church that morning when she was fussy, I stood her up on her own and she stayed that way, just holding my hands. She loves to stand up and stare at her feet as they do something new! Maybe she'll be one of those babies that goes right to walking instead of crawling first.
She's eating like crazy now. Yesterday she ate some banana, orange jello, green beans and macaroni. Even when she doesn't like the taste of something, she still wants me to feed her bc she wants to be eating and chewing whenever I am. She loves watching people eat and eating with them. After months of disinterest, she's catching up fast!
We went to our first yard sales of the season this past weekend. She did great with getting up at 4:30 am and behaved for hours. Towards the end though, she wanted her bed and to relax and nurse. She made out well though - she got about 20 outfits for this sued and winter and I couldn't resist buying her a few toys.
Katie's second tooth is popped through it looks like. How adorable will she be with two little front teeth!

Easter Weekend
It's been such a busy weekend! I can't believe how fast it went.
Katie got Baptized on Saturday. It was a lovely ceremony that Katie was really good with until the end. She had skipped her second nap so she was beyond exhausted by that time. But she loved getting the holy water poured over her head and was a good sport sitting through most of the service. Once she was baptized, Bill and I were confirmed into the church. After many months of classes, we're finally fully part of the church and have righted all of our wrong doings outside of it. What started last summer on a midnight walk with an infant Katie where both Bill and I felt compelled to go to church again and get our baby Baptized has now finally been completed. Im not sure how I feel about that - I actually enjoyed our private class sessions to learn more about the whys and how's of the faith. I no longer just go through the motions, I understand them now. I have meaning behind the words. But I still constantly have moments of "hmm, I wonder why they say this or we do this" and I immediately think I can ask at the next class. Luckily he's encouraged us to keep up with emailing him so maybe that'll suffice. Church definitely feels more like a family event now, where we're apart of something. I like the idea of Katie growing up in that enviroment and taking part of the church life through chorus, alter service or bake sales. She's always very happy at church.
Easter started very early. We woke up at 7:30 am and went to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Cousins that haven't seen Bill and his siblings in 10-15 years were asking to meet up so we went along. One of the cousins I had a fun time talking to. She's around my age, has a baby around Katie's age, goes to the same park as we do all the time and lives just two blocks away. She seemed really sweet, so maybe I'll have a park buddy.
After the breakfast we went to church, which Katie made it through the entire thing without fussing so I got to see the mass instead of listening in the front room. The church is always so beautifully decorated for holidays!
We headed to my MIL's house afterwards for a dinner we were late for and so Katie could play with her cousins. She adores babies so she really enjoyed the 4mo one, and giggled like crazy every time the baby started to cry (she scared him!) she also really liked her toddler cousins.
Now that Easter is over its like a huge weight has been lifted. I've been fretting about the baptism for so long now. I guess I can start focusing on Katie's birthday now!
This is the total TMI portion of the post, so feel free to stop reading here as this is moreso for my own personal records. Katie is not even a baby anymore, as she's no longer having baby poop! She has formed little kid poops. She doesn't like it as she has a lot more work now instead of gushing, and she stinks so badly, but it all stays in the diaper now and is easier to clean. Is it weird that I felt sad over poop? I kept thinking that she's not at all a little baby now. She might as well be a toddler!

9 months
Katie's now 9 months old! Her first year of life is 3/4ths through! It'll be her party sooner than I want. Why can't she slow down?
Katie has developed a "naughty smile" now. Whenever she goes to grab or throw something she shouldn't, she quick looks at me and gives me this big grin because she knows she shouldn't do whatever she's about to do but will do it anyway. She is getting difficult! She has so many opinions on things and she likes getting her way. She also has quite a temper when I tell her no and won't let her have her way. She'll be a fun one, I can't believe she's already starting!
She's finally accomplished cutting out one of her naps from her day. She had three but this week she's cut out her six o'clock one every single day. Now she takes a nap at 2 and again around 8-9 but she fights me through both. She loves to explore - there's no time for naps!
Her favorite things to do are go to the park, clap other people's hands (her own get boring) and lick her toes. She can now get up on her knees or push herself up on her hands but not both at once without immediately falling. She's super clumsy! But she sits like a pro. When she does occasionally fall over, she usually catches herself half way and then just stays like that and waits. She won't cry or yell, she just stares at me and waits until I notice to help her upright.
Katie's baptism is tonight. I'm so stressed out getting everything ready for it as I'm super behind. I had the last two days perfectly planned so that the chore list would be distributed easily. But yesterday we got up late, had to run for food supplies, made chocolate eggs to give out as gifts and then Bandit ran off and we spent the next 4-5 hours getting her back. By the time we got her back I was so work out and stressed that I just went to bed. So the list is all on today. So far I washed her outfits and baked her baptism cake. The list is about 20+ things to get done and all are things I can only do. Katie is grumpy so that's not helping as I have to keep stopping everything to nurse her and try to make her nap. Which is what I'm doing now while cake cools. Hopefully she goes to sleep soon!
